The Space

Rose Room Recording Studio represents 18 months of construction and consultation between owner, Galen Weston and acoustical designer John H. Brandt. Since the studio facility is housed on the 3rd floor of a warehouse building, certain steps had to be taken to ensure the necessary isolation to and from the building and the surrounding elements. The Isolation of the facility is designed at 14.1 Hz so that there is great isolation (~STC-70 + extended LF) down to 20 Hz.

This beautifully crafted Indonesian Mahogany wood room was specifically designed for professional recording and production services including mixing, mastering and 7.1 post production. It features trapping in the ceiling with loads of diffusion from the central PRD and slatted ellipse. In addition, reflective rock walls for definition, slatted binary sequence traps, and poly-cylindrical devices to encourage 'ensemble' along with a sense of space. The main tracking room is asymmetrical as is the specially tuned piano room (22’ x 10’). Each room or booth has been custom treated to provide optimum space and character where one could comfortably record a delicate Spanish guitar solo or a Sonata. When playing our magnificent Steinway 9’ Model D Concert Grand you’ll have clear sight lines into the tracking room and the vocal booth.
